Meryem Saci is an Algerian-born, Canada-based singer and songwriter whose music moves between Soul, R&B, Hip Hop and North African rhythms. Born and raised in Algeria before moving to Canada as a teenager, she carries a dual cultural perspective that shapes both her voice and her writing. Known for her strong vocal range, velvet-toned delivery and heartfelt pen, Meryem creates music that blends emotional depth with rhythmic power.

Among the defining moments of her career are the release of her album Journey in 2025, created after a creative residency in the Algerian desert, and its sold-out album launch. The project, which merges traditional Algerian sonic influences with contemporary Soul and Hip Hop production, expanded her international visibility, further amplified by a viral collaboration with the DRP Choir. She has also shared the stage with IAM at the Vélodrome and collaborated with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

Her songs explore raw and often delicate themes — displacement, the state of humanity, personal growth and the search for meaning through life’s journey. These stories unfold through a soundscape where Soul and R&B meet Algerian melodies and Afro-Arabian rhythms, creating a musical language that connects the old world and the new.

Meryem’s music is deeply influenced by the emotional intensity of 70s blues and Motown soul, the groove and storytelling of 90s R&B and Hip Hop, and a wide range of Algerian musical traditions including Chaâbi, Gnawa, Ahl Lile, Hawzi, Raï and Chaoui. These influences meet modern beat programming and contemporary production to create a sound that moves across generations and geographies.

Through her voice and songwriting, Meryem Saci tells stories that travel through time and sound — music rooted in heritage yet shaped by the present, inviting listeners into a journey of rhythm, memory and emotion.

The music is an invitation for the listeners to feel like they are taking a walk with her and making stops at her favorite sonic landscapes. Every song explores a different side of the artist, which gives a glimpse into her story.
